Wet-end

Wet-end is one of the most critical parts in the paper making process in terms of high quality end-product and runnability. Entrained air content, at this point, is one of the key factors of process stability and therefore an area where Savcor Forest Group is focused on.

Air is entrained as there are lots of free falls, turbulence, mixing, chemicals and other sources of air in the paper making process. Air bubbles effect the paper making process in ways such as disturbances in water removal and process purity, formation, retention and quality in forms of porosity and defects in gloss and smoothness. Increased amount of air also disturbs online measurements and has an effect on the process chemical consumption.

OUR SOLUTION FOR YOU:  SONICA On-line Air Content

SONICA uses ultrasound to measure and analyse the amount of air in stock. Located in short circulation, SONICA has a strategic location to transfer air content measurement data to the operators and DCS, that control the process and ensure its stability.
