Process Purity

Second series of CRONO solutions focusing on the purity of continuous processes and the process equipment.

System focuses on controlling metal surfaces' conditions by using electrochemistry. CRONO Anti-scaling dates back to the 80’s where the system was used succesfully in pulp production. In the 90’s the the solution was used in marine industry to prevent mussel and shell population in sea water (ships, power plant cooling system). In 1999 the use of CRONO Anti-scaling was extended to paper process in cooperation with the Finnish paper industry.

 

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Electro-chemical reactions change the pH and Redox potential, and oxygen radicals can be formed on process surfaces.  Electrical treatment can also effect the surface physical and electrical properties in forms of surface energy and electro-static repulsion. CRONO Anti-scaling prevents both organic and inorganic scaling as well as anaerobic conditions, such as smell and micro-biologically influenced corrosion (MIC). In micro-biological anti-scaling applications CRONO acts below the slime layer.
