SAVCOR CELEBRATED 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN MIKKELI
Savcor turned 30 years officially on the 13th of August 2011. However, the 30th anniversary seminar and official celebrations took place on Friday, 9th of September in Mikkeli, Finland, simultaneously with the annual Savcor Ballet event.
Keynote speakers to the seminar were Mr. Matti Vanhanen, CEO of Finnish Family Firms network, Mr. Jukka Kilpeläinen, SVP Group R & D of Stora Enso and Mr. Hannu Savisalo, CEO of Savcor Group. Mr. Vanhanen addressed the issue of the necessity of entrepreneurship in order to create growth and stability, given the current economical circumstances. Mr. Kilpeläinen concentrated on opening up the future scenarios of forest based industries, highlighting the role of innovations for the future success of this industry. He also reminded about the importance of cooperative efforts across the industry. Finally Hannu Savisalo, CEO of Savcor Group, placed the thirty-year-old Savcor on the same map with economical changes in Finland and in the world, explaining the different phases of the company and factors that got Savcor to its current shape and position.
