HOLMEN PAPER AWARDS A WEDGE CONTRACT
Swedish forest industry Group Holmen Paper awarded a Wedge Diagnostics Systems licence for its Hallstavik paper mill after a successful pilot period. Savcor Wedge has been in use in Hallstavik since November of 2010 being part of Holmen’s new efficiency improvement programme, which aims at maintaining competitiveness and increasing agility.
Holmen Paper has three mills, Hallstavik and Braviken in Sweden and Madrid in Spain. Hallstavik Paper Mill produces 680 000 tpy paper on three paper machines. The present Wedge installation covers a production line, which includes pulp line TMP3 and the largest paper machine PM 11 with an annual capacity of 330 000 tpy.
Cooperation between Holmen Paper and Savcor Forest gives possibilities for both parties to develop operations in a fruitful manner. Holmen is able to increase efficiency and process analysis competence whereas Savcor Forest has the possibility to identify new development needs for the Wedge system from the application at Hallstavik.
